I recently tried to fit an Ohlins rear shock to my MC28SP... The problem that I faced was that the ball joints of the Ohlins shock where by one 1.mm wider than the stock one... So it didn't fit to the socket so I had to use a lathe to reduce 0,5mm each side of the ball joints to install it in to my bike...
Did anyone have the same problem like me...? Is this normal....?
Öhlins are like a Lego set. You first have ti decide the model, then the type.
For NSR its model: 46HRCL (see below), type: HO 014 (this decides spring type and strength, shaft length, bushing diameters etc.)
Are you sure, you have the HO 014? If not, then the spring and shaft length could be wrong too. I bought an Öhlins 46HRCL but didn't know about the type, so I got a Bimota shock, with too long shaft and too strong spring.
There is a number on the spring and Öhlins can tell you what it belongs to.
You CAN buy the shaft, bushings, spring etc. as parts from ôhlins, but for me it would be too expensive and too much trouble, so I sold the shock again.
If you want it, I have a HTML document with most of the Model and type numbers, which I can send to You or other interested.

You are right. My information is for the older shocks.
Öhlins changed the numbers a few years back, I don't know if they changed the shocks though
New numbers for NSR:
Shock absorber S46HR1C1L OHHO 206
Length: 302 +6/-6 mm
Stroke: 50 mm _________________ Poul

Thank you very much for your help... Unfortunately the shock is from another bike.. And not for an NSR... The good thing is that the seller contact me and offered to refund the money that I gave... He probably made a mistake... No harm done... I will send it back and I will buy another specially made for the NSR (HO206)... Thanks again guys for all the info...
