2 stroke tuner wanted in Melbourne

As the title says, I am looking for a reputable tuner in Melbourne. Need to get the carbs of the MC16 sorted as they appear to be badly out of balance.

Have you balanced carbies yourself before? That is not too hard a task with a vacuum gauge.

Otherwise there are three workshops I know of, one I haven't seen the quality of workmanship yet.

First and best is ****.com but ******'s waiting list is out to months.

2nd is redline performance is Dandenong.

3rd is Ben Reed, ex GP racer has opened up a store in dandenong, specialising in two strokes from what I have heard. This is the unknown store.

Txs for that. I havent tried to balance carbs before and dont have a gauge......but any excuse to get a new tool! Laughing

Any idea where to get reliable information on balancing?

I used this quite successfully on my old SV. I haven't done anything other than jetting on the NSR before, but I would still use this as a reference for when I start tinkering.

I was told of another method that was used on FZR250s. It involved setting up the carbies on a bench at the same angle they are installed on the bike.

When a ball bearing falls through all the carbies simultaneously as the throttle is opened, then you ahve your carbies balanced Shocked

According to the Workshop Manual, to balance the MC16 carbs, you should remove them.

However, what you are trying to achieve can be seen in these two photos:

Both slides want to align as below, synchronously!

the carbs in the original work shop manual look soo much cleaner. Couldn't you clean yours up a little more Shocked

Andy are those MC16 carbs?
they look the same to my but with some small details different.
on the picture which you had the carbs complet open i dont have two bronze balls i have only one bronze ball and the other is a bronze hole.
first time stripping the carbs just wanted to know.
i found lots of rust in my mostly looks like from the gas tank.
