Do a forum search, this topic has been covered many times.
The long and the short of it is…Some are happy with the products, some very unhappy….and some who feel any price would be too much for Chinese bodywork.
The facts are..It will not fit without some/a lot of work, the finish will not be perfect, it is not even close to OE bodywork.

Jeff, I think the orig poster was asking about Japanese fairings and not the Chinese ones?

Not sure what Japanese fairings you are talking about. I have had fairing from Magical Racing and Corin (Cant seem to find their website anymore).

Both were good quality with a nice smooth finish.

Agreed, MR make good quality stuff. Unless your buying from a "backstreet" seller i would say all panels out of Japan will fit well and be finished well enough for a good spray job.

(PS. Japanese site has more parts available)

I can supply any of these parts and mark package appropriately Wink
I can also ask if they would do a full carbon body set Cool

I've just posted up that an MC21 cowl is still available new , but with the exchange rate being so #ish just now maybe repairing or replica may be cheaper.

Personally, FRP panels never have the "OEM" feel and would always take that route myself - if your panel is damaged why not repair it?

A 60W soldering iron and a cable (zip) tie will work wonder - trust me, I have the evidence Wink

MM! Smile

Aftermarket fairings?

Sun Jan 18, 2009 5:19 pm » Post: #7 » Download Post

Been looking at this ebay ad (see link below. I'm not promoting this, just offering it up for comparison) for a set of MC21 Rothmans bodywork. Pictures look good and seller appears to be respected, and his return, guarantee policy appears solid. Is this one of the quality products mentioned here or does it fall in the too-good-to-be-true category? Price appears fair, of course it's the shipping that really makes it an investment. Comments, suggestions?

Admin: Regardless of whether promoting or not, I do not allow ANY eBay links.

The seller is in HK, by the way. Check Jeff's comments, and have a search of the forum.

My "race" bike came with these not so great fairings on it. They aren't bad looking and the fit is ok.... Some things are though, they don't use the same fasteners Honda used(gotta fight em) and the paint lines when mounted up don't exactly match. Also the paint color doesn't seem to match the tank on the bike, but I don't know if the tank is factory paint or not. And the tail fairing is all one peice(again, gotta fight it). Fine for a bike that may get thrashed at the track, but I wouldn't use them on my street bike.

You can see in the pic what I'm getting at..... But, looks good with a rider on it... Or sliding off the track and hitting the grass and doing some flips through the air......

Personally I think the MR fairing's look awful. They might well be of high quality though.

Didn't we see that headlight on the TYGA Spark fairing... about 4 years ago?

Seat just looks like a modified RS250 item, which people have shown can be easily modified for a lot less money.
