I don't know if this is any use to you guys but I can and for the last couple of years, have been buying parts from Japanese auction sites and web-shops. If there's anything you need give us a shout and I'll see if I can get it. Yahoo has loads of NSR stuff, a lot of it is dirt cheap and I have a mate out there that can ship out whole bikes.
The top figure centre right is the present bid, the link underneath is the time left, and if there is a figure highlighted in yellow two rows down, that's a "Buy It Now" price. Denomination is Japanese Yen, currency converter here:-
I pay by Paypal, I can PM you with full details, and can give you a good idea how much in total something will cost. Remember, shipping gets higher with the bigger items, not so much the weight but the size. I've never had any problems with post, the biggest drag is possibly the time it takes - a lot of the sellers don't ship till the weekends and I like to wait until I've got a decent sized parcel before shipping to save on post. The Japanese sellers tend to be a lot more honest bunch than a lot of those on eBay with hardly any rip-off postal charges. I can also get stuff from other Jap auction sites and web-shops.
I'm planning on importing an NSR this winter and will be looking for 3 other people to share a crate with - let me know if you think you might be interested.
Great, thanks Andy C. Now there is going to be more compitetion bidding here. Just kidding. Any time I need something it's the first place I look and usually find something. Thankfully, knock on wood, I haven't needed a lot so far.
Hi mtes. Allways nice to find a Japanese biker on an English speaking forum. I've just recieved a Japanese bike mag ("Road Rider") from a mate over there and you guys have some nice strokers - apart from the Bosozoku bikes maybe If you're up to it, it would be nice to have someone to ask for specific advice on some things Japanese. The transaltions don't allways come through great Oh.........I wouldn't worry too much about competition for parts right now
Just wondering if you could help me out with a couple of CDI units for an MC16, as well as a fuel filler locking cap and tank.. cheers _________________ emotivemaddog is not emo

I shall have a look, not as many bargains as when I started this thread due to the rubbish transfer rates right now but still good for those hard to find parts.

I've had bu**er all work over the last 6 months so I've had to shelve that idea Again, the transfer rates havn't helped - when i started this thread, 1,000 yen was £5, now it's back to £7.50 after rising to nearly 9 pounds

OK, there are 3 MC16 CDIs on yahoo, the one going for 500 yen is described as "not tested" - TBH, I'd probably take the risk and go for that one, (unless the MC16 CDIs have a habit of self destructing). Having said that, the number on that one looks different.
Here's the tanks, tanks can be a bit risky, esp if there are no pics of the inside. A lot of bikes seem to get left out in the rain in japan and you see a lot with rusty insides. Remember post won't be cheap either
I am in need of some mc16 original fairings, do you reckon they would make it back in one piece? and how much am i looking at for shipping items of that size?
I might be up for sharing a crate when exchange rate get's better might be in for a long wait though!.

I've never had anything get damaged in transit, to give you an idea of shiiping, I had an RD500 top fairing sent over and it cost £50. It would be less if packed with some other parts and postage shared. MC16 and '18 bodywork goes quite cheap most of the time. MC21 stuff is more in demand so goes for a bit more.
