Looks like nsr-shop/Chris Burke may be trading on ebay again as user name merrilyn_enterprises.

Don't let him take anyone here for more money for parts they never see, eh?!

Be careful out there! Wink

I don't think advocating a purchase of that MC28 is a good thing really, do you? In light of what's happened to other Forum Members, I wouldn't want to see it happen again.

I don't have the confidence that any proceeds of the sale of that bike wiould make its way to anyone who's currently out of pocket. You saying that MC28 looks like a good deal if you bought it effectively means you would be profiting by other Forum Members losses. Those losses have helped pay for that bike.

having dealt with burke in the past, i believe it is more than reasonably safe to say that he has no intention of reimbursing forum members with the proceeds from the sale of his nsr. and, i'm sure those who were left out of pocket by nsr shop see the situation as andy does. obviously, differentstrokes has had no unfortunate dealings with burke(?) as evidenced by his remarks to andy.

Better, but you're utterly mistaken, there is zero comparision, Japan is just a place, no one working there these days had any bearing on anything done in WWII.
The conduct of an individual is the discussion point here.

There are Forum members who have paid Chris for stuff that never arrived, he's not refunded that money nor got in contact with them.

A cowardly thing to post Andy... Shame on you. I have never burned anyone here or anywhere... To call my charactor into question because I MAY have dealings with him is a kin to saying that anyone who buys anything from Japan is Just as Guilty as Japan for what they did in the 40's to the USofA.... You have no way of knowing what he would do with his funds.... It's just as likely that he would use the money to start paying people back...
In anycase, whether he paid or not..... How can you infur that I would be in effect stealing from anyone here.

Cowardly Sir.... Even if in jest , you would think better to shame someone's charactor that has not earned as much. Sod off.

Fontyyy's just PM'd me a copy of your previous post. Interpret my post as you will, but I won't condone the purchase of anything from Chris, and won't stand by and see anyone else do the same for a seller that has openly told customers they have little chance (or some cases, no chance) of ever seeing their parts or their money again!

I never said you'd burned anyone on the forum, but you have been openly unsympathetic to those who have been left out-of-pocket in previous posts. If you choose to deal with him, do so at your own risk, but I stand by what I say. There's other people's money in that bike, and I don't think they will ever see any of it back if he sells it. Will you sleep easy knowing you've put several thousand Dollars in the pocket of someone who's ripped off people here?

I personally have better morals than to buy cheap parts from a crook that has previously ripped off "my friends", regardless of whether I perceive it to be a good deal or not.

I don't see anything cowardly about the post, and it certainly wasn't in jest -- better to say what I think for everyone to see than say it behind your back... although the post wasn't directly aimed at you or your character, despite what you have read into it. I'm not calling you a crook for dealing with him, but I don't personally think you should deal with him (if only for your own financial security more than anything else), and I don't want you to advocate to forum members who may not be aware of the recent problems if they are newly registered. For someone who's so skint and down on his luck, he seems to have had no problem putting a complete MC28 together! Something is very wrong there.

If he came back publicly and said "you can have the bike for $xxxx shipped, but please pay $xxx to so-and-so and $xxx to someone else... and pay me the balance" then that would be a different matter, but it's never going to happen! I'd love to be proven wrong though.

If he'd taken you for several hundred Dollars and I was voicing my opinion in your favour or on your behalf, I wonder if you'd be so quick to jump down my throat? Confused

the rest of the story: differentstrokes, burke eventually did stiff me for a credit of a hundred or so. but, i felt extremely lucky to have gotten anything at all for my $1200 after several months of believing i had lost all of it. some 'new' parts have paint overspray and missing tabs and scratches, but at least he doesn't have them anymore and i do. my quote you posted was intended to offer a glimmer of hope to those still owed by burke. and, i would never post anything else related to him in any kind of favorable light like you have.

Are these off-topic references really necessary?
