Hey peoples,
I was wondering what front fenders will fit on my MC16, I'm thinking of getting one from TYGA. (I've just ordered some alloy mufflers from them)
As I'm putting a MC21 kit on it, I thought a modern fender would look better.
Cheers Blair
The MC16 forks are narrower than all the other NSR's, so nothing will fit.
Your best bet is to source an MC18 or MC21 front-end, and then not only do you get better suspension, but better brakes and a wider front wheel! You can fit whatever fender you want then!
Of course, you'll then want an MC18 or MC21 rear wheel, and before you know it you'll be on the slippery slope of total customisation! MC18 barrels... heads... carbs... pipes... ignition... and then a second (newer) bike... all because you wanted a different front fender! _________________ Andy.

Hey Andy, yeah I thought that would be the case.
I've already got the MC18 cylinders, heads and pipes and the 21 fibreglass kit, just gotta win lotto.
I guess I'll search around the auctions sites. MC16s eh, gotta love em.
Here's how it looks at the mo.
The only "problem" with the later front-end is the available steering lock.
You need to cut the stops on the frame back (or remove/relocate the ones on the lower triple) but you can trap your fingers between the bars and frame as the clipons are lower on the later bikes.
Mk1 R2/4J swingarm will go in there nicely too! _________________ Andy.

Cheers, still in mock up. Planning to paint the fairing's white with some sort of vinyl design. (I haven't decided what though)
My TYGA mufflers turned up this weekend, so stoked.
Yeah that thought has gone through my mind, I've got a lot of other stuff to do on this bike so I'll keep my eye out for a guard. If a cheap MC21 comes up I'll have a go at butchering fibre glass.
