If it isn't working, replace it ASAP. Do not ride the bike, you will KILL it.

When you say doesn't work, what do you mean? is the seal leaking?

The water pump shaft is driven off the crank shaft. THe impeller shaft also drives the oil pump. So if your impeller shaft isn't spinning, I am thinking you have a bigger issue. If the seals are gone, then you can replace those pretty quickly.

Either way, if you are having an issue with your water pump you should check it out before riding your bike again.

i've been told the only way to see if the water pump is working is to check inside the radiator to see if the water is running through the radiator, which is not happening, water seems to just lying still, no movement whatsoever.

water pump is pretty easy to change.. although you need to be very paitient. Also you need to drain your engine oil and coolant..

If your new to this i suggest you get someone to fix it for you because am
sure your gona have a hard time remove the rubber seal and rings from the crankshaft..

It should be around a 3 hour job.. parts is pretty cheap..
i suggest if your gonna change the water pump change the gaskets as well.
