Fouled Spark Plug IN ONE CYLINDER

Wed Mar 25, 2009 4:37 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

I got a used MC21 recently, an oil pump was changed as it was leaking, now ONLY the plug in the bottom cylinder gets fouled after each test run, is this a problem of an oil pump adjustment or is something sticking in the carb? Any ideas or solutions? I appreciate any information. Thank You.

Hello Jazz4, and welcome to the forum.

Without knowing the state of the motor it's difficult to say. Is it stock?

Check the OEM jetting against this guide.

Difficult for anyone to try and diagnose anything without knowing more facts.

Thanks Andy. My bike is stock and ran very well with a new plug, then the next morning it would not start and the plug appears to be wet. Could it be a sticky float in the carb?

KISS Delimiter for MC21

Tue Jun 25, 2013 11:39 am » Post: #4 » Download Post

Is it worthwhile to use a KISS Delimiter on a stock MC21? Does it require any jetting changes?

The KISS delimiter is by far the simplest solution for an MC21 wire-splice, and definitely worth fitting if you don't want to cut and splice your standard harness.

Any modification requires checking the jetting, and this is no different. Put it this way, you're releasing approximately 15hp (around a 35% increase over stock) from the motor. You'd be mad not to check the jetting!

It can be your float height so check that. Do you turn your fuel tap off after every ride?

Sounds like a float valve problem
Float valves are fairly cheap to replace. I don't think the seats that the values seal against can be replaced though. I found it best to replace the fuel tap and turn the tap off when not running the bike. Also keeping the bike upright on a paddock stand helps alot
