I have a US NSR50 with 12" wheels on it, but I need to have at least 17's on it. Can I take a swing arm and wheels from a UK (for example) 125 and put those on the 50? Or is there a simplier way to do this?
I'm trying to see a NS-1 in Compton today, hopefully the guy calls me back. I'm thinking (and this can always be dangerous) that the maybe the NS-1 and the 125 have the same swingarm.
Andy, thanks for the heads up, I will definately check out that site.
I imagine what you are looking to do wouldn't be too hard with a little creative imagination.
The first probable limiting factor with the 50/80 setup will be the length of the swingarm more than anything else. I expect an NS-1 arm would go in there fairly easily, but you will need to measure it all up to see if/how much it effects the geometry.
The front-end will obviously need changing too, because of the increased diameter of the 17"... the fender won't fit for a start! The forks for a 17" wheel will be probably be cosiderably longer. Personally I would be looking out for a set of late HRC RS125 forks, c/w wheel, disc, and caliper.
I'd certainly like to see more of the project. Maybe you'll consider subscribing later down the line and creating a "Garage" and "Build" topic in the Members Area. _________________ Andy.

You've lost me! The guy wants to convert an NSR50 to 17" wheels... I've suggested NS-1 parts may work, and said I'd personally look out for an RS125 front-end. I can't see what a Derby 50 has to do with the topic?
