Trying to figure out where the air solenoids connect into the loom.
The connector for the R/h solenoid is there but no sign of anything else?
I've cut back the loom where the connector wires (black/white, pink/black)
are but no sign of any taped up wires or any cuts/bodges etc??
Judging by the length of the wires from the second solenoid it looks like it should connect into the loom at roughly the same area? The rest of the loom around battery/seat area looks pretty much intact and no spare connectors hanging around?
Talking of hanging, if i don't sort this out soon it may be an option........... _________________ Will it work? Who knows?
Thanks to all who are trying to help. I apologize if i missed out information but i am feeling slightly disillsioned with it all at the minute.
When i brought the mc18 and took the tank off, most of the carb plumbing and one air solenoid were missing. I now have all solenoids and pipework but am missing a connector from the loom.
I have the green connector for one solenoid (Black/White, Pink/White)
But so far cannot find ANY wires for the other solenoid (Black) connector.
I thought it would just be a case of cutting the loom back and hey presto, there are the missing wires taped up waiting for connection but nope, nothing. I've traced the Black/ white, Pink/Black wires near to the battery but theres no trace of any spare wires. Am i in the wrong place?
I've looked at the Dreamgate wiring dirgram but the colours don't match mine and some have question marks on the colours.Err.
Its a bit like trying to complete a puzzle with missing pieces and no box to look at! I confess to being hopeless at wiring problems. I just seem to stare for a while, walk off, come back, stare some more.........you get the picture.
I realise this is pain to solve without actually being there but would appreciate any idea's..........that don't involve petrol and matches....... _________________ Will it work? Who knows?
Tone, did you ever come right with this?
Reason I ask is that I see a post explaining that there are two different wiring looms for the 18, one only has single solenoid connections.
Yes, and that post was as Tone had asked me to ensure that a mk1 '18 had "both" connectors which obviously it can't have. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
but Andy's point (about lack of details) still remains, had you said;
"hi guys, I've got an r2j mc18 and think one of the plugs for the air solenoids is missing, whats going on?"
You'd have instantly got told (just like I did) that the r2j has one plug and the r5k has two.
But as we're supposed to guess what model bike you have, you've implied you want two air solenoid plugs and you're name is Tone18 the assumption is going to be that you have an r5k. So you've spent three weeks chasing around trying to "solve" a problem that doesn't exist.

You're right . But in my defense i don't think i'm the only one who has been caught out by being unsure of which model they've got.
I thought i had a right bitsa on my hands.
Anyhow its solved now. Jesus, i might even start to ride the thing soon _________________ Will it work? Who knows?
