Hey guy's I got a set of JHA ( i think they are) chambers with the MC21 bike. My question= the left side pipe has a ''threaded-port'' welded on , ( looks factory done) , with a plug. "Pyrometer-tap " I suspect? anyone know? as well as , Why only one side? and not the other? Oh , and the ''port'' is directly straight up and right at mid-chamber., ( fattest-part) of pipe. Also Does anyone have an original set of the matching JHA silencers for sale ,for said pipes? Be kinda cool to get the old originals, is all. thanks ;dave
Threaded Port could be for a Lambda Sensor? Used often in 4T exhausts, a 'plug-in' probe can assess mixture strength, fed back to the engine management on-board or externally, via lap-top. Just a guess, don't take this as read!
JHA cans, best bet is to get on OK!Shon / Jahoo Auctions. _________________ Rich

Yeah, it'll be for a Lambda sensor, you can get far simplier ones that just read exhaust gas temp onto an LCD disply on the dash. Different mixtures result in different temperatures.
What you do is determine what the idea mixture/temperature is by running a few plug chops and rejets until the bike runs perfectly, you then know that temp = ideal.
Then at the race you can see instantly if your motor is running optimally.
Why is there only one? Maybe he only had one sensor _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
I was under the impression an EGT sensor would be fitted around 150mm from the exhaust port, in the header... not in the belly of the pipe. _________________
There`s no cure for stupidity… but with the endless supply of stupid people around me, I must be close to finding it!
Always though that the EGT was a good idea, but couldn't seem to focus on em Scott.....your bike was accelerating that hard! When I did sneek a glance I missed the breaking point for Turn 1 at Willow Springs (or where ever we were) and proper shat myself.
Yes, well....half decent ones record highest temp since reset. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
