Modelist Members.............It Must Stop !!!!!!!!

I am outraged to see that certain senior members of this forum have developed a hatred for us superior MC28 owners. Now this amounts to nothing more than being modelist Evil or Very Mad

Now I know this is in fact jealousy of the seriously sexy single sided swinging arm and the coolness of not having stupid metal ignition key like every other bike in the world, So I have decide to sort this out once and for all and have a poll on it.

So I will let you the members of this club decide which is cool and which is not …………

Please vote with your heart and not with the banning you will get if the MC28’s win

You all know you would own one if only they weren’t so dam expensive……. Wink Wink Wink

Most people can't ride for ship or can't tell what a good setup is so what does it matter.

maybe, but this is a coolness poll and i'd most people could tell the differance between 40 and 60hp and which style is most pleasing, so there Razz

Funny how there's never a need for a poll to try and prove the MC21's superiority! Very Happy

We may need to start a feel-good club for the poor old MC28 owners... something like AA. ROTFLMAO

I'm not a modelist!

I hate all the '28 models... R, SE and SP's! Laughing

Where's the;
'I owned a Rothmans mc28sp and an mc28 racebike but I sold them both to buy an mc18 and an mc21 (and "make" about £4k)'?

RaceFan wrote:Most people can't ride for ship or can't tell what a good setup is so what does it matter.

I see what you mean but no matter what the standard of rider, he'll be quicker on the faster, better setup bike.
I recently "swapped" my mc28 for an mc21 (bought the '21, sold the '28 ) and I'll guarantee anyone would lap any track (or cover any road journey they actually rode as fast as they could) a lot quicker on the '21.

And setup is no black art, all you do is get a lap timer, change something and see if it feels better and/or if you go faster or not.

Plenty of people who haven't timed themselves round a track think they're times will be all over the place but as long as you're using decent reference points, doing the same thing every lap and getting a clear run you're going to find you're lapping within a second or so all the time.
Of course, if you're not, if you're "racing" a dozen of your mates, braking just after you see God and running off line all the time none of that applies.

You don't count, you have the sickest NSR in the making.

My 28 makes more HP than I know what to do with and I am upright in the corners so I could have half a wire swing arm and it would make no difference. Sad Very Happy I wouldn't even be able to go faster on an RGV. Twisted Evil

Jokes aside, I get what you are saying and will be honest and say that I got the '28 purely for the cool factor. One of the teenage dreams come true.
Regardless of all that, it's the only bike in my garage that I am attached to.
It's not 'cause it is a '28 but more because I broke it down and built it from the bottom up.
That and the of course the grin it gives me when old school race fans come over to my pit when I am the only two stroke at the track and tell their kids that 'this'(pointing at the bike) is what racing is about while explaining the sound and smell.

18s, 21s, 28s, NSRs, RGVs or Aprilias. There are so few two strokes around that, in my mind, they are all cool and attract enthusiasts. Who else buys old bikes that you can't find parts for just to feed their souls. Wink
