Competiton - How slow will I be?

Fri Jun 12, 2009 6:18 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

OK, I am doing a 1/4 mile tomorrow (as long as its not pissing down).

Am 14.5 stone, no talent whatsoever and riding a MC28 Lemon.

So, person who gets closest to my time will get a lemon based prize.*

I have charts showing my 28 at 55Bhp but was told it had more....until I see charts showing it has more, then 55Bhp it has.

The 1/4 has an S bend.

Done it once before on a 450 Aprilia Supermotard in 14.42 secs.

So what do we think? Do we care? Laughing

*Prize at my discretion and null and void if its raining as I dont do wet.

hard to say mate without knowing how fast a rider or brave you are,is the s bend fast or slow?.having a 28 wont help, you can add at least 10 seconds for that Laughing sorry i couldnt resist mate,im going to say low to mid 16's because those priller super retards are pretty chuckable.good luck anyway Very Happy

I reckon you'll stall on the line, kick start it, and get down the strip in 21.04

16.8~17.3s

The Lemon will be slower off the line, and that will make the biggest difference. You'll be more worried about slinging it down the road too.

I seem to recall a stocker is something like 13.3s for the 1/4 mile, but I could be mistaken. I expect +2s for the S-bend, and +1.5~2s just for the "don't want to drop it" factor!

Laughing The first bit is a slope then it flattens out onto the S bends.

Just checked my time on the Prilla, it was 13.42.

I think late 15's is realistic.

Will post tonight if I'm in one piece Wink

The Lemon will be slower off the line,

Actually a '28 will whip of the line easily, low first gear, low final drive. But "just" 55bhp for an HRC carded, race piped bike doesn't bode well for it's setup and if it fails to pull cleanly in first and second that could be it's downfall. Well that and possibly a lack of willingness to fry the clutch by keeping the revs over 10,000 rpm all the way through first gear.

However I've got faith you'll crack 16 seconds.
