Well done to WhiteBaitNZ for kicking a whole heap of 4 stroke ass today - i really enjoyed the battles with the yellow VFR which seemed perfectly matched to the NSR in straight line speed, making it more a battle of riders than machines. A battle that WhiteBaitNZ won again and again - much to the delight of me and my friends who were all shouting for the NSRs out on track.

Kudos also to the KR1 rider who did very well. It was also VERY nice to see a white TZ250 SMOKE a 916 and 900SS one after the other down one of the straights. Not the usual 'on the brakes' or 'round the corners' affair, the little GP bike just caught and out accelerated the big expensive Ducatis in a straight line. IN THERE FACCCCEEESSSS!!

Also, Manfeild is a great track to spectate at as you can see the whole circuit from the 'grandstand', entry was free for spectators and good food and toilet facilities were available.

I hope to get the 300 out in the near future and join in the giant killing!

Cheers Hermit,

Although I was a couple of seconds off the pace during the weekend the racing had between said VFR #266 and myself was some of the closest and most exciting racing I have had yet.

I nearly passed out in the second race on sunday hoping that if I heald breath and my lungs were empty I might be able to drive a bit harder down the straight..........race 3 I had to work out some reference points for breathing and swallowing.......Very Happy

Although Monsta56 has had a bit of a bad run with his nRS250 his was on the gas on his RVF400 and will be a force to be reckoned with once he can find a bit of luck.

I saying that it goes to show how good the standard NSR motor is......sure my bike might not be the fastest on the track.......what it lacks in speed it makes up for in reliability.

I look forward to seeing the 300 on the track in the not to distant future and be sure to let me know when you will head up. I'm more than keen to see what a bike with an extra 50cc will do to my little gem....Wink

Lastly I haven't had i happen before so i better ask...

I missed a gear in the last race of the day without realising it till that bike started spitting at me like it was on the rev limiter??????

Is this just because of over rev?? I assume it kinda comes down to the chambers being past their productive rev range??? Assuming makes and ASS out of U and ME though........

The rev limiter will cut in and 'save' the engine, and yes you generally hit a brick wall when you over-rev the thing past the tune of the pipes. Very annoying when you're almost past someone, as you feel like you've suddenly gone backwards! Shocked

wow ive never found th limiter, but then ive only thrashed my motor in its 300 form so i guess it maybe doesnt rev as hard as it wouldve done as a 250? Good to know its there though.
