Anyone going to US GP at Indy in August?

It would be neat to meet some NSR owners and talk shop. Also never been to Indy and need some advice....like - can I take my camper and park somewhere in the infield, or anywhere close for that matter? That's a great way to get up high and see what's happening on a larger area of the track. Dad and I used to watch Indy car races that way before they closed our "local" track in PA.

Any advice is appreciated! I think this would be lots of fun especially for my son.

Craig,

still working on my plans, need to determine how big a fire I will be dealing with at work around that time, plus trying to see if I can get something close to my seat last year (Race Control is hard to beat!).

As for camping, don't think the infield is available, but Indy has camping pretty much all around the outside of the track. I brought my trailer and parked directly across from the main entrance last year. There are some areas that are a little more "active" then others. Where I was last year was a little more "relaxed" which was good as I was able to sleep.

I'm about 5 Miles from MIS in Michigan which puts me about 4 hrs north of Indy. I havn't been to Indy in years since I took my mother to an MG event where she could show off her TD she bought when she was 16. It looked like a fun place to be. Probably more so w/o my mother. At that event the infield was open to parking and camping and I even think there was a golf course there if I remember correctly.
I was trying to get a couple buddies to ride to Mid-Ohio in July for their Honda Super Cycle Weekend ( http://www.midohio.com/Schedule/Honda-Super-Cycle-Weekend-presented-by-Dunlop-Tire ) They're riding big CBR's which would travel better on the 2 1/2 hr ride than my 28. I've been to Mid Ohio for vintage racing events and it's a very nice track. Never seen bikes race on it though. Went there last year for the 50th anniversary of the AH Sprite. I have a MKII GP Sprite in a constant of resurection. I was a fun time.
I'm going to take a look at the Indy event. Might be fun. Definately a trailer trip for me though.

Dan

Sounds great guys, keep me posted. I was going to start another thread for Mid-Ohio. Maybe we could cause a stir with our bikes that shouldn't exist here.
