I've been racing my MC21 in F3 and Post classic pre89 here in NZ.
Some guys have kicked up a stink saying that the bike had to be sold in 1989 but the rules say it had to be made in 1989.
You guys are the experts.............gimme what you know.
SURELY it's not our fault that the NSR is such an awesome bike that it dominates classes............they made enough of them that everyone could have one..................
There may well of been MC21's in dealers in late 1989 but that will be hard to prove. If youre racing in a pre '90 class then you really need to be on a MC18. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
Yeah, the mc21 is definately not pre '89 (i.e. 1988 or earlier).
The PGM-II mc18 isn't either really.
The cut off date here for forgotten era is 1989, now an f3 mc18 may well be legal in this class but it's certainly not in the spirit of the ones I've watched.
MJ has set a cut off date for bikes that will not be removed from the DP F250 div-II championship* (no matter how fast they go) of pre 1988. i.e. the mc18 can be promoted if the rider goes fast enough, the mc16 can't.
*normal Div-II qualifying rules mean if you run within 107% of the lap record in your first 4 meets that year you're promoted to Div-I. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
