Being on the light side im keen for a light farst bike. No idea were to get a manual tho? Allso plans to mode the heck out of the motor. Any sugestions? Lightend fly weel and balance motor. Increse compresion? Got electrics pritty sused, going for fully tunable. steet riding only so not to nuts. All the adeas i can get at the mo would be a grate help. Would be very sad if less than 75hp tho, Can it be done?

Hi Mate
The mc18 can be hard to find parts for .some things you can do, drill some hole in airbox lid, delimit covered in the tuning section, HRC reeds ,spacers, stuffers if u get a mc21 manifold.
The best thing u can do is look through this site almost everything on here.
4 parts there are a few places that get the still avalable parts from honda japan not much left 4 mn18 though.
U can get a lot of stuff from http://www.japanauctioncenter.com/ .u can get some good stuff of there the fees are a bit high bit u can get parts cheap and a lot of second hand performance stuff that u cant get anymore.
Or go right out and put a 300 kit on it.
Have fun

You'll need to build a full NSR F3 engine or bolt in a Honda RS250 race engine to get 75 BHP.

The 1987 is an MC16. And even in full F3 form it's never going to make 75hp.

I've got an MC16 and live in NZ too.
All I can suggest is getting MC18 barrels and heads (second hand)from Victorian Motorcycle reckers in Aussie, that's where I got mine from.
Getting Honda parts in NZ is expensive.
Trust me, I've been there.

What ignition system are you using? That's the next thing I'll be looking into.
