RS125 Coils

Sun Aug 16, 2009 6:37 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi People.
I've come across a couple of new RS 125 Coils . Is it possible to put these on my 21 race bike. They look alot different to the stock 21 Coil's??
Cheers

If they are NX4 ones with the two connectors then they can be made to work and should perform better than the stock NSR coil.

If they are the older NF4 coil then I would think you would be better off with the stock coil.

You can also make late spec NF5 RS250 Honda coils work.

yeah they're nx4 ones with the 2 little connectors.
does the coil body need to be earthed? or are the 2 metal tag's on either end of the coil soley for mounting purposes. does it matter which wire goes to which pin?
Thanks for you wisdom Stephen Very Happy

On a Honda it doesn't matter which wire goes to which pin.

The body shouldn't need to be earthed either on that coil.

Just for the record, I compared the stock NSR coils with some RS250 NX5 coils on my bench tester, and the difference in spark strength was truly amazing.

That's why I run RS coils.
