spark plug cable

Wed Sep 16, 2009 2:15 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi all,

My MC21 has a torn plug cap and I just got an NGK plug cap&cable. Can anyone tell me if this cable can replace the original one?

Can original cable be removed from the coil and I can just fit the new cable directly to the coil?

Thanks,
Jim

unplug the spark plug cap from spark plug, unscrew cap from cable, fit new one by doing the reverse procedure Smile

I've only changed caps before, but changing lead and cap at the same time most certainlycan be done. There are two spade connectors (female on the leads I believe) that you unplug, unplug the spark plug end, and then get the cable out. Thread the new cable back in and plug it in and see if it will fire up Smile

Just pay attention to the routing of the original cable, and try not to subject the cable to sharp bends or kinks.

if you cut out around where the cable goes into the coil you'll find that the coil has a screw on connector the same as the plug cap end. just screw the new HT lead into the coil and fill round the end with black silicon sealer .
good as new!!
