I live in Thailand and have had for a few years a nsr250. I have ridden on very few occations, and it has mostly been parked in my garage...
But now i have decided that I would like to fire it up again.
So my question is, how do I find out which model my bike is ?
It was registred here in Thailand in 1996, so that don't give me a clue.
Is there a way to find out via the frame number, and maybe more important via the engine number.
I have looked at photos around on the web, and to my eyes i looks like it is a mc18 model.
Last i drove it, i ran ok (I just had the local moto-x repair man giving it an overhaul).....but now i has been in my garage for at least 2 years.....so it mught need some parts to get running again, then it would be nice to know for which engine type it should be.
My second thought is about getting a new fairing and a seat, due to that while I was abroad a long time ago, a brother in law , slipped on a rainy street.... and when i returned, no sign of the fairing (lower parts).
Is there anywhere in Thailand where it might be possible to get a new fairing and seat ... maybe something not looking quite stock.? Not only fairing but parts overall ?
thanks in advance (and for many great threads on this forum)
Fist get frame no which is on head stock then go here http://workshop.nsr-world.com/ to match frame numbers. If you're in Thailand go here http://tyga-performance.com/site/index.php Matt is great with nsr`s and will be able to help you out with fairings and a lot of parts.
For hard to get parts you can sign up as a member here and Moriwaki-man on here can get you parts from japan.
hope that helps you out
Right now I amnot near the bike(it's parked with my father in law) , but i took a look at my registrering book, and that states
Frame number : MC18-1106934
Engine number : MC16E-1136909
And looking at the above link did not give me a clue, yes it did , it is an mc18 model, but I could not figure out which submodel it then would be.....

TYGA, as far as I know, are an export-only company and not allowed to (officially) sell within Thailand. The law in Thailand changes almost daily though, so still worth a PM to Matt@TYGA.
nsrdownunder: please stop abbreviating words in your posts. It's lazy, can be difficult to understand for those who are not native English speakers, and has no place in forum posts or e-mails where a low character count is of no concern. I have asked this of Members countless times, and it's getting on my wick! _________________ Andy.
