Does anyone know where to get cheap glass race fairings from ?
I`m going to start racing one of my mc21`s and i don`t want to spend to much on a set of fairings as good chance i might lay it over.
I have not been able to find anywhere in australia that sells them.

mate i got some from tyga, the only supplier i could find. I did have a bloke who was going to sell me the molds for the fairings for like 3k should have snapped them up and be making a little on the side but didn;t have the money at the time. Best of luck

There used to be a bloke called Aussie bike fairings who had a full set of molds for all pannels. The rear cowl was one piece.
I dont think he's trading anymore, i cant find a phone number for him.
I bought a full set off him about 6 years ago. He was based in Kingston, Brisbane.
I think Tyga will be your best bet, or get some cheep chinese versions off ebay. At least you can repair the tygas if you do toss it and they are not completly destroyed.

i've various bits and pieces of glass fairings (tail and upper front) along with some not so great original fairings. here in Melbourne They would do as a race ones if your not looking for pretty. Drop me a message if interested.

try race glass or racers edge, both are aussie companies. A google search will show you what is available.

You may need to check your local rules and regs, and then check that the TYGA ones have the fully enclosed belly pan, otherwise you'll need to patch them up to spec.

Yeh i would have to mod the tyga ones belly pan needs to hold 2litres ,
Race glass advertise nsr250 fairings but sent a few e-mails with no reply ?
I did see on the web site he is selling all his molds, buissnes

You sure the belly pan needs to hold fluids for a two stroke? Didn't when I raced F400...

Only if it's a local club rule, the Australina equivlent of the ACU say the same as the ACU and the FIM do, oil catch tanks are required on 4 strokes only.

That is australian rule 2strokes need 2 hold 2litres and the 4 strokes need to hold i think 4litres and the 2 and 4 strokes need oil catch tanks as well.

I dont think any fairing holds fluid when lent over 30 degress or more do they.
The tyga fairings would hold 2lt if you patched the vent hole in the bottom. The back of the belly pan is slightly higher than the front, but it doesn't really have a lip on the back section so it would gravity alone holding it in there

15.2.1.8 With the exception of Period 1-5 Historic machines, and production-based machines without a lower fairing which have ADR compliance, all machines, including sidecars, must be fitted with an integral lower fairing dam or separate catch tray, which must be constructed to trap and hold engine oil and / or coolant:
a) For 4-strokes machines, a capacity of at least 3 litres,
b) For 2-stroke machines, a capacity of at least 2.5 litres,
c) With no less than 2 holes, each of 25mm, which may only be opened in
wet race conditions.

That's unique to Aus rules.

It wouldnt be too hard to modify a set of tyga fairings to provide that volume with either glass or a couple of ali plates and sealant.
