Flywheel puller source?

Sun Feb 21, 2010 9:52 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Tyga's website says out of stock or I'd buy one from them so I could add it to all the other tools I needed once and bought. I need a puller for my MC21. Anybody have a used one they will sell, or lend out? Or is there an easy way to make one?

Thanks!

There's none listed and none showed up in a completed item search.

no idea if it fits, but redline does advertise a RS250 flywheel puller for $50. You could always ask them.

Cheers

Thanks. Charles said it may work but recommended I make sure before buying an RS puller. Anybody have experience with that tool on an NSR? I'll send them an email but would like to hear from you guys too. Thanks again.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like the Tyga part I originally looked at has been superceded by the combination tool, part number TYTO-0014 which does the flywheel and RC shaft. Because I've been very happy with their parts and service I will be ordering this from them and not worrying about using something "close".

Be carefull with the rc valve puller , if you dont get the seal out , you will bend that circlip behind the seal .

Thanks. But 1) they come in the complete top end kits, and 2) a whack with a hammer makes em flat again too. Do I sound too much like Fontyyy now? I would consider that a compliment!

Am I missing something here???? I emailed Redline before I was told about the Tyga tool. They got back to me today with a quote for a combination of parts (tool holder, adapter, puller, and something else) for a grand total of a couple bucks short of $200!! That combined with an estimated in-stock date of 4 WEEKS has easily made up my mind. Is there any reason I should even remotely consider this option?

I'll probably stick with the affordable part and less-than-one-week shipping from Thailand to my doorstep from Tyga. Need a bunch of other stuff anyway.

Bushman mentioned it was a 27x1mm reverse thread above?

I know I have an RS puller that was "trimmed down" and I used that on my NSR's. Didn't have the thread pattern/size so didn't want to say 100% yep...

have you looked at asking Craig for the cost of a "specific" tool number?
Rotor Puller: 07HMC-KV30100
Fly Wheel Attachment: 07733-0010000 (goes inside to not damage crank end)

I'm quite sure that someone said that the puller is a standard Honda. Ask Tyga, they will know as I think they had their puller made in Thailand for themselves.
