Although i have an mc28 i haven't actually passed my test yet and have been riding a cb100 on a c.b.t. certificate. The thing is i only started riding for the last week of the 2 year c.b.t and now it's invalid. I wouldn't say i'm a complete novice but have little real road experience.
I was thinking i may do a direct access course as for three days training and a test i could be fully qualified on the road and be riding my Nsr,canny wait or should i do another c.b.t and just get more road experience and then do my test when i'm a bit more confident?
Anyway would be good to have some advice on whether i should do c.b.t. or direct access as i'm a bit of a ditherer and can't make up my mind,i just would love to have the nsr for the summer.
If you felt confident enough to buy the 28, then you should be confident enough to do the 3 day test. It includes the CBT anyway doesn't it?
The nsr will probably be a safer ride than the CB100 in any case based purely on the handling, braking etc... If it's standard it's not gonna bite unless you do something ungodly with the throttle anyway.
GO for it girl! _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
go the direct access route
my missus done it last with very little road experience similar to you done cbt it ran out done the direct access and passed
now i cant keep her of the things she hasnt ridden the nsr yet she had a rgv 250 last summer got a cbr 400 now _________________ Half the strokes, twice the fun
What I want to know Babe, is how the hell do you resist the temptation to ride the NSR regardless of license?!!
I know I bought mine before I had my full license, but at least it was still in the importers/paint shop until I after my test! I'd never have been able to stay off it had it been sat in my garage!!! _________________ Andy.

Yep Andy it has defiantely been pretty hard not just to take it for a wee blap but at least i have something wicked to look forward to when i pass my test. I have taken it to an unused airway field and round the block to have some time on it,I just can't wait to get it on the open road and do the speed thing,of course i will stick to the old speed limit ,heaven forbid i exceed it
I think i will go the Direct acess route it seems the most sensible really, hopefully i could go to the dyno weekend all being well, although it would take me about 14 years to arrive there
Paul would love to say i could do anything but i hate to admit it i actually am unable to juggle that's a very positive attitude you have there my boy.
Cheers for the advice peeps

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think Jeff said he and Wayne could find room in the van for you and the NSR for the journey! _________________ Andy.

And if not, you could always slum it in my pikey race transporter... _________________ MC21SP Plaything

we do have a big van, but we also have 4 bikes and three people to fit in it so far.
i,m bringing my spare bike for the track day, as the campsa bike will have the 18 carbs on it but will not be set up untill the saterday
if we can fit 5 bikes in and someone wants to sit in the back we could sort something.
Dave the thought of slumming it in a pikey race transporter is ummm.........something i've always wanted to do!!!!,such an austere mode of transport!!! I think i will hold on and actually see if i pass my test before i decide to enter an unknown van full of biker men,on second thoughts i'm in
if you do go with either me or dave then you will have to come to the trackday,we will be going to the track on the thursday night so you will have to get the friday off work,oh and get you finger out and get this test done
