Sprockets on a MC21 SE

Sun Feb 28, 2010 7:24 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi

I have played around with sprockets on my bike for some time.
There is still one sprocket that I have not tested yet but I can't
seem to think that a 16T front sprocket would fit on the bike for there is not
much room for it unless you do some cutting work.

Would this sprocket fit without cutting anything?

i have a 16T front sprocket on my MC21 - it does indeed run tight clearances to the surrounding castings but it does fit straight on without the need for modification. I got mine from Jamie Wheeler through his NSR hompage.

Hi Neal. You are hard to find these days.
I have not received anything from you since that last time
I wanted Dr. Neels's number. You say I must try to get
a NS400 front sprocket? The reason I want to try this is
because I've got a 34T rear sprocket. This is strictly
for track use of-course. We must really try to get this email
thing working, it would be much easier for me.

Nice hearing from you again.

34 is low ! Were you able to pull that in top gear ?

I ran 16 38 at the east london gp circuit , it was a bit low on the exit of the corners but spot on for potters pass if you held it flat out .

16T front and 34T back

My friend who had a MC18 putting out 72Hp had that ratio on the local
killarney circuit. The bike ran 200psi compression on both barrels. That bike
did a 11second quarter mile obviously not with that sprocket ratio. He is helping me out on tuning but does not have a lot of time always.
