Crank Big End Bearings

Tue Mar 30, 2010 2:57 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hello,

After a big search with the help of Paul (Active member of NSR-WORLD I don't remember his nick name) I think I (we) managed to find the solution for the NSR crank big end bearings...

The manufacture of these bearings is a Japanese bearings manufacture called "IKO"...

The code of the big end bearing is KT253216... IKO has label this bearing as 25mm x 32mm x 16mm but actually the true dimensions is 25mm x 32mm x 15.8mm

I am waiting Paul's input to verify this or anyone else knows something else about the big end bearings...

Regards
Michael

I pass 2 bearing shops during my weekly travels for work. If you'd like me to take one to them and see if there's something that will work I'd be happy to do that and share any info I can get.

Craig

So Michael, what was the outcome of said comparison?

Andy has been able to get genuine big end bearings for a while now complete with new Honda cages.

The big end rollers infact come in 3 sizes depending on the crank pin dia and rod dia.

We can do OEM main bearings, genuine Honda big-end rollers (as Steve says, in 3 different sizes), genuine Honda big-end cages, and genuine Honda thrust washers.

New 1987~1988/RS new centre seals are now under evaluation.

Main bearings are now £200 a set. Dmitry and RobH had the last two sets this week. Please note, we only sell the main bearings as part of a crank rebuild now, as they are in too limited supply.

A basic crank rebuild is now £450 + return shipping for all models. This includes main bearings and truing to HRC specifications, but is subject to an initial assessment and a non-returnable £25 deposit. Once assessed, and determined that the crank is rebuildable, payment for the main bearings is then required, because as already mentioned, they are in very short supply and it's "first come, first served".
