Can anyone tell me if the side stand switch on MC21's are supposed to kill the engine if the stand is down and the bike is put into gear? The orange light works OK to indicate the stand is down, & it it goes out when the stand is up. Is it supposed to do anything else?
Sorry if it's an existing topic - need to know asap for a roadworthyness inspection.
I don't know, but the green earth wire, and yellow/green warning light wire circuits are obviously ok. It's just when the one remaining option disapears into the black box...... I'll have a good check tomorrow, but will probably try changing out the switch first.
After swapping out numerous components between bikes, and acheiving the same result, I get a call from the vehicle inspector informing me that he's now found out that an NSR doesn't have this function, the manufacture year was just prior to this as an ADR (Aust. Design Rule) requirement, and therefore it's not a roadworthyness requirement in Victoria.
