hey guys i keep fouling plugs on one cylinder mostly when its parked overnight or during workday. i change to a new plug its fine for 2 days then is no good.

i am running a ngk plug and motul oil are these wrong any other things i can do to recitfy the issue

and way of unfouling a plug while the bike is running?

I'd guess the float valve for the relevant cylinder isn't closing properly.

You can check if this is the cause by letting the bike run out of fuel before you leave it: Switch the fuel tap off and allow the motor to stall. This ensure's there's nothing in the float bowls to leak into the cylinders.

When you go to restart, open the fuel tap and allow a couple of minutes for the bowls to refill. If the motor sparks up and both cylinders run then you have identified your problem!

Just wondering, if nsrboy had one semi-blocked oil line would that cause the other to over-oil and foul a plug?

And which motul oil you are using?

Can't say for sure, but I suspect if one oil line was blocked, that cylinder would sieze.

The NSR is like two completely seperate engines on a common crank, so nothing is shared.

bandit 7 i think it was motul 600 cost me 38 dollars from honda at rocklea

the float may be a relivant point as i bought the bike a few months ago and had been parked up for several years the carbs where gummed up seriously so i am guessing there may be some sort of wear there.

i have heard from another member on here 80xar he said motul was bad and he also fouled alot of plugs and recommended castrol tts

bandit 7 being a fellow brisbane resident what oil do you use and where is a good spot to buy?

I am using Castrol TTS from supercheap

Castrol tts all the way. I use it in my nsr, pocket bike, chainsaw and wipper snipper. I have not tried mixing it with scotch, but I reckon it would work.

We should catch up for a ride one day. I text 80XAR every now and then, he's keen to meet nsr owners too.

I found my fuel tap wasn't fully shutting off the fuel and bought a new one.

Thats premix only. Too thick for injected.

I dont know why my bike didn't like Motul 600. Just wasn't happy with it.

If anyone in Brisbane wants TTS, i can supply it at my staff price, which is about 22 bucks a litre. PM if you want any.

What plug you running ? You have not changed to a colder plug at all ?

i will check the part number on the plug tonight im on brisbane southside and yes defiently interested in meeting some other local nsr riders

today the bike reved its head off staying on about 10grand and the one cylinder in question that fouls would come in for a second and then out
at one stage in died totally doing 4grand and then stalled
