mc28 oil light is flashing...?

Tue Apr 27, 2010 11:08 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi guys,

I just finished doing a wire splice to my mc28, wacked in my hrc card and it works nps. then put back the standard card and it turns on and runs but the oil light is now staying on, i checked the oil and it was abit low so topped it up (about 500ml). its been on for 10mins now. and still the oil light is on.

it wasnt flashing before the wire splice.
could this be something to do with the oil being low or someting else?

thanks in advance.

Nope, read the wiresplice carefully;

"now separate the following wires from the rest: Green (earth), Light Green/Red (neutral switch), Green/Pink (oil level indicator), Green/White (side stand switch)."

Yep, you've cut the oil light wire so the oil light is on.

There is no way to fix this other than putting a switch on the wire. If the oil light wire sends a signal (i.e. there's oil in the oil tank) the HRC card won't work. If it doesn't the oil light will come on with the normal card.

Whoops! Got too excited and was only paying attention to the colour and not what they were for... Thanks Fontyyy!
