MC21 footpeg bracket "guide" piece

Sun May 09, 2010 1:36 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

So I was removing the right side footpeg bracket on my MC21 when I heard something drop down into the bottom of the fairing. It turned out to be part 50610-KV3-680, part #5 on I14 of the parts manual. I didn't know this part existed so now my question is what is the proper placement of it so that it serves as a guide? If I knew how to post a pic I would but i don't (ah, figured it out, see pic below). I have it basically running parallel and just below the horizontal bracket. Would appreciate the help. Thanks.

That is the holder for overflow pipes . It goes on the bottom footpeg bolt between the pegs and the frame . Hope that helps your pic didn`t work.
The ring faces outwards

From the picture it looks like there is supposed to be some sort of coiled piece hanging off the bottom, right? Mine doesn't have that (broken off I guess), and I have no overflow lines in the area. So can I just remove the guide piece or does it serve any other function, like affecting the angle or position of the lower footpeg bracket? Thanks a lot.

Yes it should have a rod that goes into a loop your overflows from carbs , crankcase , rad overflow bottle go in it . It wont make a difference without it . Just watch where your overflows are . That there not infront of you swingarm where any overflow can go on tour rear tyre . Embarassed
