Hi, as this has been discussed for the mc18 in a seperate thread maybe mc21 could be discussed here to keep it easy to find.
What year cbr600 ohlins or other make shocks would fit mc21?
Also does anyone know any other bike rear shock that would fit?
Would probably be easier to find height adjustable 2nd hand shocks that suit with this infomation.
Shocks that suit and shocks that fit are very different things.
My mc21 has a CBR600f3 rear shock (year unknown it came on the bike however I believe only 1997 and 1998 shocks are the right length, pre that they're too short), it's supposedly stock and is VERY firm (and I'm 15st), it's fine on the track but far too harsh on all but the smoothest roads. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
Well, near enough...14st+...muscle is heavier than fat young Tom!
I can IF I try and IF I'm motivated enough get down to near 12st but that's way under 10% body fat and it's flippin' hard to stay there.
There will (for instance) be zero beer, pizza, takeaways etc. and 200+ miles a week of cycling for that to happen. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread

it could be re-sprung though could'nt it to help make it less harsh?
i am also near the 15 stone mark. do you feel it would be too hard for me then?
Give Peak Performance in Exeter a call (01392 255 000). Steve rebuilt an MC21 shock for me (well, for nsrmonkey!) a couple years ago, and I am sure will have re-valved and re-sprung dozens of CBR600 shocks in the past.
He did have a bit of a moan about the NSR shock though, as it's not easily rebuilt apparently! I don't think he will do NSR shocks any more. _________________ Andy.

I notice someone has fitted an r6 rear shock into a mc21.
was that a direct fit?
what year r6 was it?
the more choice the better for finding a height adjustable rear shock.
