How much weight are you really going to save? The NSR hardly has a massive battery and charging system, since it does not have to turn a starter motor.
You'd be better going on a diet - or having a long sit in the small room before each race! _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Not much really, but every little helps even if its just a kilo off the weight of the bike. Plus doing away with the weight of the magnets in the flywheel should in theory help the motor spin up a little faster. Worked ok on the rgv.
Plus its one less thing to go wrong, I've had 2 charging problems this year and I know its hassle plugging the optimate in everytime I'm stopped but at least the battery will be charged!
Gets rid of a bit more clutter too.. _________________ More **** two strokes than you can shake a **** stick at.
You can throw away the charging system and if you want to get carried away you can warm the flywheel to melt the glue holding the magnets and ditch them too. Saves a lot of weight and you don't need to go on a diet.

Yes, but your exhaust valve would suffer!
You will gain ponies from having no load from the charging system. In simple terms, the energy that would normally go to your battery etc. would go straight onto the back wheel. Remove the magnets (like Matt said) and trim the flywheel in a lathe right up to the pickups. You could also shave off the thick steel. Or buy a total loss flywheel.
And then drink more beer
Cool thats what I was aiming for. Yeah am on a diet, or trying! Vodka instead of beer.. mmm _________________ More **** two strokes than you can shake a **** stick at.
