Carburetor solenoids

Sun Aug 15, 2010 2:22 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

How important are these when running on NSR MC18 on track? My bike (R4J) only had one solenoid, with the other left off when I bought it. I now have an R5K which has both on. Will there be running problems without the second solenoid fitted, and did they vary between R4J and R5K?

Also, has anyone got a good photo or diagram (still struggle with the one on this site) to show how they are all linked up with the carbs...

Thanks

Anyone going to Oulton Park on the 28th September for the 2 stroke group?

Solenoid working

Better not fit that second one then.

Moving on, is there an easy way to test whether the solenoid is working?

I just put a set of ta22a's on my R2j mc 18. Left the second solenoid connected and made up a bracket to mount it up near the powervalve servo motor, where it is mounted on a r5k. Ziptied the extra wiring neatly out the way. Works fine.
