The Tyga website says that they are clear coated. Does anybody know how hard wearing this is or will it burn straight off. Can't really justify the cost of the stainless.
Thanks.
Finally got a decent search and discovered that a few guys bought these. How are they holding up after a while on the bike?
Thanks for the reply. The problem is getting to the downpipes I guess without removing the fairing panels. Might have to rethink the stainless option. Winter project to restore the bike, so I may be able to justify the cost when I am not spending a fortune on 2T oil.
Use satin barbeque paint. Worked very well on mine. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

My pipes are still looking really good even though some of the clear coat has burnt off. I am going to clean them up a bit and re-clear coat them.
Very good quality pipes i am very happy with them.
after a couple days of riding mine started rusting near the heads. Used polishing compound on the pipes to get rid of it then used auto wax and polished the pipes. so far no more rust! will have to look for the clear coat bbq paint though
VHT aerosol paint is the best I've found. Follow the heat cycle curing instructions and you have a good, solid coating. Available in a wide range of colours including clear. I do agree with KTM39, chromed pipes look good!
