oil pumps

should the solenoid attached to the oil pump have two stoke oil inside it or have i got a blown seal somewhere??
took the pump apart and the solenoid was full of oil .

well it smokes alot, like a scene from THE FOG!!!
i thought maybe the solenoid was sticking keeping the pump on full all the time, solenoid works but was thinking being full of oil would stop the piston returning???

How should you go about cleaning the oil pump?

I m doing a full rebuild and I don't want to take it apart, but I am reluctant to use it as it was on the previous bike.
