What fuels can you get?

Sat Sep 11, 2010 4:21 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi Guy`s
I was wondering what fuels are available around the world and how much you all pay
Here in australia we have 3 types
Unleaded with 10% ethernol 91 octaine around $1.12 a litre at the moment
Preamium unleaded 95 octaine around $1.23 a litre
and a high grade premium unleaded 98 octaine around $1.33 a litre Sad
There is a big diference in price between the unleadeds here when we still had leaded years ago the 98 was only 3cents a litre more than standard unleaded Crying or Very sad
and prices are in australian dollar.

That would be 4 types of fuels..

Unleaded with 'no ethanol' is still readily available..

You could also knock of around 4-6 cents per litre for here in Brisbane..

In Brisbane we have at least 10 different fuels up to 110+. They are obviously not pump fuels but are easily obtained. I'm pretty sure Shane and all you other Victorians can get the same stuff. We have 2 resellers and I think you guys have 3.

I've never tried it because the first thing you need is a running bike. Rolling Eyes

Yes can get race fuel you need a race licence to get it from the person around here but he makes it so can make what you want and avgas is easy to get if you know someone in the raaf .But I am talking about easy to get pump fuels that everyone can get. I am interested in the difference in octaine and price around the world .
Someone correct me if i am wrong but is 110octaine as high as can get I think our manufacturer told me that when i was getting race fuel made for my rally car.
and i am talking in RON i think the U.S use MON
And the united petrol with 100 octane has ethenol in it (Ethenol gives a higher octaine)So i would not use that in a Bike

Our 98 is unleaded racefuel not from the pump - that is the price to pay if we want it . Avgas is the cheaper option and mix with pump 95 if your setup does'nt like straight avgas .

I am having fueling issues with straight avgas . too rich Surprised

Up here we don't need a race license. I went for a drive with a mate the other week to get some and the only thing they wanted to see was the money.

Just wondering what the highest octane level fuel people have used with an Nsr is?

At the moment mine is 103' something but it is still too rich . More homework is needed to get the best results . I have a mate Dave that can supply 106 , it is a special small qauntity mix only .

We run E85 in our mini. Its not a pump fuel though. Its 85% percent elthanol, and smells like methanol. Its 108 octane and burns very slow compared to normal unleaded.
We get 20lt for a carton of coronas from a unnamed workshop, so about 2.25 asd a litre.

Would not work in a std NSR though as you need to advance the timing a fair whack to get the best out of it. It also has a much higher ideal afr, so you need to richen it up ALOT.

Apparently they are releasing a 'pump' version that will called 'E85', except its very gay at about 95RON, and will probably destroy any car tuned on the real 108 stuff in a matter of seconds.
