rs250 motor or just have it tuned?????

Tue Nov 16, 2010 9:40 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

hi guys, pretty much as it says. ive found 2 rs250 engines at a very reasonable price. ive just bought a mc18 for track days.
mileage per piston etc isnt a massive issue as its only for track days. is it worth fitting the complete rs250 motor to the nsr as the power would be great but from what ive read im going to struggle for parts for that model?
my other option was just have my barrells and cylinders ported to rs spec or just tuned to the hilt!
could i use the rs ignition set up as its alot lighter on the flywheel side of things???

oh and who do you recommend for the tuning
thanks

The RS motor should make good power but I think you'll also need the RS pipes and PGM.

The RS power peaks past the NSR rev limiter.

Who do people use for NSR tuning?? There are the obvious 2 stroke (UK) names of Stan Stephens and Bob Farnham but they are known as Yammy and Suzuki tuners tbh.

Got some plans for next year so just fishing really.

Had a tuned CR5 supermoto myself, what trim is yours in?? any pics??

Bore us in the Members Area all you want! Laughing

No problems with a CR500, apart from the fact they're sucking menthol!!

If I wasn't such a wussy little fraidy cat, I'd have had a CR years ago... but they're even more stupid than I am, and that's saying something! Confused
