I've been chasing him for parts. He replied yesterday that they are in a state of emergency and that he has suspended his services until further notice. But communication is good, right?
Out on bike Saturday and hit by quake again Steering damper went on yesterday
From 11th ~ 26th we were averaging a quake every hour with 40% being over M6
Ibaraki got hit with a M6.2 on Saturday (I think, its getting all a bit of a blur now) that had me and wife out of our seats and getting our running shoes on
I have still suspended my services until I get the flat sorted out - it got trashed but also fuel wasn't available again until Thursday past so I can now manage out to the parts shops. Ibaraki is the lowest disaster area and was earmarked for power outages but mayor complained and we have been left out Courier companies had stopped deleveries into the area so there was no point buying from auctions or outside the city - this has also now resumed
Starting to send out packages again and managed to gain access to both store rooms , while an immediate need for supplies was needed for the grief stricken areas I was not prepaired to use resources sending out parts - feeding babies & children gets presidence in my book !
Recovery in these areas is going to be many years if ever at all , some places don't have anything left and just need bulldozed and started again but there are bodies in amongst all that carnage and peoples past A news report just a few days back still had me in tears ( I had to stop watching the news constant as I knew I was getting traumatized by it) , a primary school evacuated it kids into the playground and while doing a head count to ensure they all got out safely along came the Tsunami and swept them away , 80 kids lost Just so many stories like that
The reactors are of course the next big worry , the "press" reports and the crap they type at times in mind numbing
They were built to withstand earthquake just not a M9 followed by a M7.2 , M7.6 and I think the fourth was a M6.8 all within an hour plus hit by a Tsunami too ! Nothing can be built with that in mind
There is no stopping mother nature as this has shown - you build a defence for a 15m wave and a 25m will come along and wreck it plus your town, all you can do is prepare for it.
The next thing is three volcanoes including Fuji have been switched on by the continuing aftershocks To what level they will reach is unknown but they have reported that they are now awake !!
Apologies if you have been mailing or PMing me - I receive(d) so many mails the easiest way for me to respond was to update my FB account for family & friends and my website for customers.
I am going to lift the suspended service at the begining of next month and today or tomorrow I should have an update on my website.
Yes the media have no idea what they are talking about half the time.
Sad times but it was good news to see people being dug out of the rubble over a week later.
Did Motegi get damaged at all?
Is the MotoGP likely to be racing in October?

As far as I am aware the facilty was unscaved, the feelin of the nation coupled with not knowing how the reactors are going to go moved the GP to October again - Volcanow last year so I guess they had to top that with something better
MFJ Superbike has been cancelled
DOBAR is unknown but likely cancelled too
Was driving on some of the roads out to Tsukuba track and they are fooked !! All they are doing is a patch repair and they are lethal for bikes - no chance to get above 40kmh with out wanting a death wish on your hands
Although on the surface things are going on as usual we are still a country mile away from being anywhere near normal _________________ Resistance is futile!
Glad to hear your ok Drew
The world wishes that all of Japan will get through this and be a stronger nation. The losses Japan has suffered will never be replaced but take heart the world does care and i hope that it will be shown in months to come
Take care and keep you chin up mate.
The images I have seen the past 2 weeks will be with me for ever now , maybe being here has made them stronger in my mind but watching a city being washed away with residents still in their homes is gut wrenching stuff
On a lighter note, Spring has sprung - the Magnolias are looking spectacular and our cherry tree is just about ready to go full bloom.
Will be asking Fukushima to power our BBQ next weekend
