Classic Bike Trackday @ Llandow: Sat 28 May (& Cadwell e

Mon Mar 21, 2011 6:31 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Firstly a big thanks to Andy (NSR World Admin) for allowing me to post this invite to the NSR World members Smile

Some of you will already know about Diff'rent Strokers which I started a few years ago with Tim (aka StrokerBoy) to cater for all the oddball and seldom seen strokers.
Since then a number of people have talked to me about organising trackdays for classic bikes (inc strokers!) as part of my day job for the past 14 years has been organising trackdays for cars. So this year me and another mate have bitten the bullet and created Classic Bike Trackdays and will be running three events across the UK;

2011 Trackdays:

- Saturday 28th May: LLANDOW - £99
- Friday 29th July: CADWELL PARK - £129 ...with PRACTICAL SPORTSBIKES magazine
- Friday 30th September: TEESSIDE AUTOOROME - £89

Classic Bike Trackdays events are open to anyone with a bike built before 1995 - whether a 250 stroker or an 80's superbike - all are welcome and will be run in 20 minute sessions alongside similar bikes from the same decade or capacity wherever possible. Noise limit on all days is 105dBA and we'll have other facilities available too...

On The Day Facilities:

- Professional tuition will be available throughout the day from our team of ACU qualified instructors, and this will be available free of charge to all novices.
- Mobile dyno service set up in the paddock courtesy of TT Motorsports
- Trackside photography from Xteme Sports Photography
- Track insurance for your stroker (if required) from Pace Ward Insurance.

To Book:

- Credit Card: Call us on 08451 25 26 46 with a credit card
- Paypal: Just send the booking fee to info@classicbiketrackdays.com
- Cheque: Fill in the Booking Form on the CBT website and send to us with a cheque

Any questions??

If you've got any questions please have a look at the website or call me on 08451 25 26 46 or email: info@classicbiketrackdays.com and hopefully we'll see a load of strokers of all types - including NSRs! - at all events Very Happy

Cheers,

Darin

Sounds good Darin.
NSR guys......not sure if SATT are running a summer 2T Cadwell event this year, but this could also be a good gathering of the 'usual suspects' from the last few summer Cadwell TD's??

Cheers Rich - I'm looking forward to all three dates and seeing some 'real' bikes out there Smile

Its all started from having the Diff'rent Strokers stands at the shows as there was always someone asking us if we organised trackdays as they wanted to take their bikes on track but without getting in the way of loons on the latest race rep!

We've got a team of ACU qualified instructors attending each day and tuition to any first timers will be free to help build their confidence and getting them up to speed Smile

The staff from Practical Sportsbikes mag will also be at Cadwell Park on track and trawling the paddock looking for machinery to feature in future issues of PS, so it should be good! Very Happy

I hope to be at all 3 of these, really looking forward to it. Cadwell ain't far from me and as luck would have it I've got that day off work already. Mr. Green

Definitely NEED to make it to Llandow, after last year where we broke down before we even got to the track. Rolling Eyes The pics from last year's NSR event looked ace.

Laughing There's never enough time unfortunately Les!

We shuffled things around last weekend so we could attend the Stafford Show with Classic Bike Trackdays and spent two days chatting to LOTS of people about the events planned for this year . . . great reaction from everyone, and absolutely amazing to hear what bikes some people have!! Shocked

Thankfully we didn't look like this all the time!!! ROTFLMAO

Hi,

Quick update . . .

Although our main event at Cadwell Park in July with Practical Sportsbikes mag is getting great support with a cracking range of bikes already coming along, our Llandow trackday is regrettably looking a lot quieter.

In my experience, bookings for the majority of events this year are being made later than ever, so this is a quick heads-up just to ask that if you're thinking about booking the Llandow track please do so before this Thursday evening (19 May) which is the cutoff we've agreed with the circuit, so we know how many riders want to take part. At this present moment, leaving a booking until the week before will be too late.

If we do have to make the unfortunate decision to cancel the event - which is the last thing we want to do - I guarantee we will give the guys who have booked either a full refund or carry the booking across to one of our other events this year.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of possible bad news, but I'll let you know the outcome on Friday 20th May.

Thanks,

Darin

I'm not being funny or trying to annoy you but to be fair I wouldn't pay £99 to do Llandow unless it was me, Steve, Andy, Leigh, Tom and a few other select friends hiring it for a private play.

The price is just too steep, I'm paying £98.10 to do Cadwell with the RGV (well SATT) guys on July 1st and £95 to do Anglesey International on Friday.

Be honest, which would you do?

Yes Llandow is a track and the reason you've never heard of it is here;

it's well under a mile round the entire circuit.
