i have 3 private messages in my outbox..
kinda like they didnt send or something?
i deleted stuff from my sent box
in the hopes that it would "make room"
for the outbox stuff to send...

no apparent change..

how do i "send the items in my outbox"?

Obviously not as dumb a question as you thought, as none of us know! Laughing

Maybe they stay there until the person they are intended for reads them? I've noticed PMs staying in the outbox for a long time as well.

No reply from the powers that be ?

I think that's why no one replied...

The answer is yes, when you send a PM it will sit in your out box until it is read by the intended recipient.
When that happens, it vanshes from the out box and hopefully the person will reply and all is well.

What has been happening (I got this from Andy as a passing comment) is that when something happend to the site i.e. it got hacked a while back or he does something that doesn't quite work, 'they' use a backed up version of the site / forum. So, if at the point in time that the messageboard was backed up you had a few messages in the out box and they were read and deleted, they will appear to re-appear. Does that make sense ?

Oh yeah - for shore !!!

the process of a PM goes like this.

You write a PM, and click the send button. It is placed in your outbox until the person you sent it to opens it. Once it has been opened by the person it was sent to, it then goes to your sent box. I think I have the limit on PM set to 10. That means you can have ten messaqes in any given "folder" at a time.

As for the ones sitting in your out box, that just means that the person who you sent them to hasn't opened them. I have an email being sent to notify PM's. I have the POP-UP window notification turned on (when you come to the site, and you have an unread PM you should get a pop-up, unless you are blocking pop-ups, then your on your own).

As for backup's and restores. I do backups all the time. I have only had to restore once, and that was some time ago (two months now I think). So people should have opened their PM's since then.
