Yep, will keep it totally original. The body work isn't too bad actually, lots of cracks but I'll take it to the same place that repaired my MC28 fairings, they did a good job.

Hi Joe exellent basis for the bike to keep, well done for finding and buying it they are few and far between in any condition ,when Moriwaki man who lives out there in Japan says he has only got 897 other winners SP to see it gives you an idea how rare this model is my friend who imports 30 + bikes every 3 months from Japan says he cant find them and has never had 1 come up for auction,i look forward to see you make good progress as you have with the 28,i have asked my decal man about copying the decals for the Winners as i have a few new decals with my bike included, well done for rescueing it and not breaking it,goodluck, jonmac. _________________ John
I didn't even know what I had last night, lol. I searched on here and found your thread and looked on the history section of Jamie's NSR homepage and found the text about how there were only 900 made...needless to say that changed my mind about parting it out and made me quite excited.
Done a little bit of work today polishing the right side frame and cleaning the top two stroke tank. Will post a few pictures up later.
One downer is that the TPS will not fit the MC28 so the hunt goes on for one of them.
I have the servo motor off the 21 now and I can see why the 28 one failed. This one is in mint condition and I thought the 28 servo had free movement...not compared to this puppy, it's smooth as silk operation. Just about to hook it up on the 28 and see if I get the dreaded ERR2...if I do I'll probably scream a lot, hide the bike and concentrate on gettting the 21 on the road
Annoyingly I think I have fried a second PGM4 lol.
I checked continuity on the loom wires from the 16P connectors to the 4P servo connectors and everything is fine...this can only mean that the PGM is not sending a signal, oh well, I know have two PGM4's to send off repair...luckily I have an MC21 to play with this week

On the plus side that's one less NSR neutered at 40bhp.
It's been too long since we had some PGM-IV abuse _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread

Unfortunately for the MC28 hater in you the PGM I sent for repair which I originally thought was not repaired so well miraculously revived itself tonight when plugged into an MC21 servo Powervalves are no fully operational...thanks to a MC21 donor lol.
I thought I spunked a lot of cash of my RS125 but this NSR lark is getting expensive, not that I'm complaining (my wife will start soon though) but burning out PGM's feels like losing money in a slot machine So far I've enherited a burnt one, had a burnt on repaired (which didn't work to start with), bought a new one and burnt that and now getting it repaired again!
I realise now why I've been burning them out...not asking a vital question (or reading the answer) a long time ago.
I've always thought that the RC valve spindle rotated anti clockwise to allow full power so I've been trying to set the valves up with the valve pulleys rotated as far 'right' as possible...when the servo has been trying to swing LO when turned on its been straining as it can't go any further LO on the cylinder...POP!
Honestly only just found out tonight (headbang smiley?)
Got the right side of the frame in a better state this afternoon.
Before (this is left side but right side was the same).
After.
Used some wheel cleaner, green side of a wash sponge and a dry cloth and then 220, 400, 600 & 1600 grit paper for the stubborn parts. Could do with a bit more elbow grease but I'll concentrate on finishing it off once the rest of the frame is cleaned.
Finished off the frame & swing arm this morning, still needs a final polish with compound but the hard work is done. There are still a few stubborn spots that I need to get the sandpaper on but I'm satisfied with it for now...next is cleaning up the wheels, the most frustrating part of cleaning a bike in my opinion especially when 20 years of dirt has built up!
Anyway, pictures below.
Scrubbed & cleaned entire right side frame & swingarm.
Same with the left side, although haven't cleaned the rearset yet.
The forks have some pretty nasty pitting on them so I'll attempt to clean them up later, should come up quite nicely with sandpaper and scrubbing.
