Hi Jay hope all is good for you, that would explain its sudden failure at landow,it was going very well up until it stopped,is it all sorted now? the only good thing to come out of this was plenty of laps on the white nsr f3 of Stephens which i know you enjoyed, goodluck, jonmac

Shattered skirt which lead to seizure due to aluminium swarf jamming the rings and causing a loss of compression?

I had the same happen to my front cylinder but it only jammed one ring - the other kept sealing properly and the motor got me to the top of the hillclimb i was competing in (i had no idea why it suddenly lost power at the time - i just assumed the fast increasing altitude had caused it to run massively rich so i kept going lol).

All the bits of broken metal passed out the exhaust without causing other damage - have your bore and combustion chamber been damaged at all?

hi jonnny ,ya alls good thanks ,the bikes all back togerther and running ,steve gonna run it up on the dyno soon and then ill get it collected , ive had that much on my plate in the last year that the NSR took a back seat , after sharing steve F3s i wish it went pop on the 1st session instead of the 2nd Wink

as for what caused it ,steve mentioned the jet on one of the carbs being corroded badly , or something like that hes the man to ask , i do remember him ringing me to tell me im an animal that should not be let lose with a 2 stroke Very Happy

the goods news is it should be alot better than it was before it went pop , after sharing the F3 there was no way i was going to tell him to rebuild it and keep it standard Very Happy
