I have the same worry. Were they not inserted dry originally ?
If you epoxy them in, can you get them out next time you need to nicasil the cylinders ? _________________ Poul

I sent the barrel for replating with the tube inserted, and received it with the tube removed, so I do not know how to remove it. I see that the tube is immaculate, no scratches, no rests of sealant/glue in the length that sits inside the barrel. The other portion is slightly corroded, so I assume that's where it is wet.
I'll cool the tube before inserting it with some loctite/epoxy all arround and check that it doesn't move when pulling by hand. Will report results. _________________
So I inserted it cold, but it has not been sufficient.
I fired it up yesterday and run the first heat cycle, there was a small leak. This morning I rode it for the first time and in 2 min, the water pipe became loose and all liquid was lost. As I am wearing shorts and have no fairing, it took me 1 sec to stop and call for a tow vehicle.
The bore in the barrel has a ridge that los like it does the sealing, but I think the tube needs to be glued somehow.

Tisk tisk.
When we got our first NX5 it came in bits. By the time I'd put it together it was just getting dark. I took it for a spin up and down the Sukhumvit highway (in shorts and T-shirt) and declared it "good fun but a pain getting away from the lights". Paul was itching for a go, so off he went (shorts and T-shirt), but it was now dark. He did a couple of high speed runs but kept getting his flip flop tangled up in the gear lever, and the mosquitoes were getting in his eyes.

You are absolutely right. It's no excuse but I was (a) working on the bike and did not intend to ride it (b) only foing next block for petrol (c) too anxious to check for leaks (d) whatever other silly reason
I happily returned home on the breakdown lorry, with an empty cooling circuit.
