Just been whipping round on my nice new (to me, I got it Thursday) '28 today, just popped down to Matlock Bath for a quick tea then going down the bypass to see if Monkey is home yet to show off my new toy to him, doing about 115mph on the (push bike it's got an HRC 030 card) speedo went to get another gear only to find I am in top and on the redline, thinks "probably shouldn't do this" just as the engine died, it didn't seize, it just lost power, so I pulled the clutch in just case it was going to lock and pulled over.
It seemed seized as I stopped then as I was messing about trying to get it into neutral it started to be able to be pushed in gear, then it started OK but had absolutely no power at all and it popped like crazy at low revs, if there were any big hills on the way home I'd have been pushing.
I knew I shouldn't be riding it like that before I'd had it checked properly but I just couldn't stop...........
Oh well live and learn, all part of the "fun", I'll post some pics when I find my camera and shed key. Both of which are hiding somewhere. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread

I think youve killed it... Andys was like that, seized solid. We played with it for a min, it restarted and ran ok -ish but no power. Got it back to my house and foudn the bottom cylinder was shafted. Bummer.
This is now the time you reach for the keys for the ever trusty RVF.. but im afraid in your case you sold it lol _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
When you pull it apart you can take a pic of the piston and add it to our large (and ever growing) collection on the other thread. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
And I'd said to Billy that I wouldn't run it with the HRC card untill I'd had it setup properly and wouldn't cane it flat out anyway, so what do I do? Run it with the HRC card and hold it flat out in 6th down the bypass.
This is the only way I'll learn. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
I'm afraid it's like a drug Fontyyy... I had the exact same problem!
Stephen and I were actually on the way back to his place to jet mine up a couple of sizes, but that little stretch of dual carriageway between Devonport and the Tamar Bridge was just far too much temptation! _________________ Andy.

The good thing about drugs is you can cure yourself. And if mine goes pop once more its off the tamar bridge with the damned thing and i will be cured lol _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
The gearing on the MC28 is outrageous compared to the MC21, it tops out pretty quickly. _________________ MC28 SE -sold-

Yeah, I couldn't believe it, the route I was on is part of my run to work and the quickest way to Monkey's house so I ride it all the time. The RVF would've had at least one more gear left if I'd had that wide open from the same place.
First thing I thought of as I pulled over was your "what did I do wrong?" thread _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
I can't see that something would go wrong with the HRC card and aftermarket pipes. You must've had other mod.s in it right? Something affecting the airflow/jetting?
I had my MC28 with that spec. and never a problem.
But then what do I know?
Commiserations, I know how it feels. _________________ MC28 SE -sold-
