hi all, my nsr has no water in the radiator or bottle( hasnt been run like this). im just wondering on how to fill the rad back up? can i fill the rad to the top and then fill the bottle to its mark? also i need new front disks and new discs for the mc16 are pricey so would there be a cheaper option like vfr, cbr discs?
fill it up, gently squeeze the hoses to purge some air bubbles, let it idle a few minutes with cap off, shut it off, and top off as needed. At least that's what i have done in the past. _________________ -Jim

So you don't bleed them? On the KTMs we've got there is a bolt that you undo on both the head and radiator. You unscrew them to purge the air, screwing them back in when coolant comes out. _________________ MC21 Honda NSR250. TYGA 300 conversion.
NSR's dont have bleeders on the cylinders like the Honda RS (or the KTM it sounds like).
Without the bleeders, I would fill up the radiator, squeeze the hoses, tilt the bike approx 45 degrees to each side, refill, repeat till the level in the radiator doesn't go down anymore.
I do this same process with my RS with the exception of bleeding water pump, cylinders and head using the bleeder/purge bolts.
Surely that renders them utterly useless? Gravity will do the front cylinder and head, it's the top head you're concerned about (if you're concerned at all, all I ever do is run it up with the rad cap off and fill it up. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread

On the KTMs I have the bleeders are on the heads. Which makes the most sense as the air will naturally go to the highest point. Of course, the highest point on the NSR would likely be the cylinder. _________________ MC21 Honda NSR250. TYGA 300 conversion.
Lifting it and shaking it? whats that all about, you cant do that with your car, do as fontyy says, run it up, fill it while running it, no problems. _________________ Proud Father of , 05 ktm 400exc supermoto 2018 honda crf rx supermoto
