My next step in track prep is to set the RC Valves, and while I have the cables unhooked, I'd like to give them a good lube job with WD-40.

But I have a general question about cable play.

On the tuning page, it says "...there should be about 0.5mm play in the cables." How do I measure this play?

I've asked myself that same question a couple of times.

In theory, 0.5 mm is the minimum distance the human eye can distinguish, so my understanding is that you should get the minimum noticeable play, as if you were setting the chain play.

Just my 5 cents (is that how you say it?)

So my take is that .5mm would be there is the slightest amount of play in the cable holder on either the servo side or the valve side.

Better to err on the loose side than tight?

I suppose another way of looking at it means .5mm is adjusted perfectly.

Definitely too loose than too tight.

Loose and your power output will suffer slightly. Tight and your servo motor will suffer greatly (followed by the PGM)
