i had stripped and rebuilted(new 3 bearings) the crank before summer but i couldnt find new big end bearings so i left the old ones as they seemed ok after checking with feeler gauge etc...
One day the bike seized after high rpm driving and crank out again. i havent stripped it yet but it seems that the left big end bearing broke and damaged the rods surface and maybe the pin so it stoped moving and broke the pistons skirt but thank god no cylinder damage!
i cant afford a new crank so my thought is to fix it again but this time is serious.
is there any rod-bearing-pin rebuilt kit on the market like the motocross bikes or maybe individual parts?
thanks
I would say if the big end roller has seized then the integral pin will of suffered some damage. In that case a new crank (or crank web) is your only fix. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
i have found some cranks in acceptable condition and i can rebuilt them with new bearings but i think its hard to source the other parts for a full rebuilt (the small roller bearings, pins and rods). is there any luck on finding something to match?
The rollers can be got though most bearing shops. The cages are a little harder to get hold of. The pin is of course part of the web so can't be replaced. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
You can get new rods for the nsr crank but by the time you add up the total cost of new rods , bearings , seals , labour etc it will be more than a new crank from Tyga .
You need to make sure that the pin on what ever web you use is in a decent condititon or else all your money spent on the rebuild will be wasted
