Plugs and Caps for my '21

Tue Jan 03, 2012 1:01 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

I've googled myself to a stand still.

So I'm trying to find a good deal on the shorty plugs and caps, as I'm putting a rear cylinder head on the front.

On this site it lists the R5300A plug, yet when I work through the honda part number ot NGK's current plug I end up with R7282A.

When I look up the plug caps on the NGK site, it lists different caps for the two plugs above TRS1225 vs TRS something else).

Can someone please unravel this for me? Which ones do I need?! What's the difference?!

I am also going to make the wild assumption that I can get away with doing this only on the front cyclinder and running the standard plug on the rear. So long as I use the correct heat range/jetting this shouldn't matter?

urgh.

Please help me unravel the mystery. It would be much appreciated.

my bike came with standard length NGK (B9ES and I rode it around with no issues before I took it apart) so I got a set of BR9ECS before I knew the difference, more info here

Mate to confirm: you run the Hrc mod with the rear cylinder head on the front, use standard plugs and have no clearance issues to the tyre?

Even though i,m now running RS plugs and caps, i ran standard ones with the head conversion for a couple of years with no clearance issues at all. I think you'll find R5300A was long discontinued.

I also ran a standard plug on the front cylinder with the rear head conversion.

The plug cap 1225 works with the plug 7282 , i think those plugs are discontinued and 6282 ? replaces them , but the same cap still works .
Just to confirm with the other guys , the rear head mod with standard plug works fine . Do you have the special hose also ?
