OEM bodywork

Tue Apr 10, 2012 12:03 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

All,

How does everyone go about getting OEM bodywork? I have search for many hours and nothing. Is it even possible to still get these parts from Honda. Thanks

It would help if you said what model it was for!

It's all discontinued now, although some stock for certain models still exists. It's only odd panels though, and the probability of getting a full set of new panels for anything other than an MC28 now, is extremely low. Even then, you would probably end up with a multi-coloured bike that would need painting!

New panels come up on Yahoo! Auctions from time-to-time, but again, are mostly MC28.

I have one brand new MC18 R5K SEED panel, as a few years ago I was going to try and make up a set over time, but it was a fruitless quest and I gave up!

I did forget to mention it's for a mc28. I have looked and it must be impossible to get it through the local dealer, I'm sure everything comes from Japan. I'm just looking for the piece that goes around the taillight. Thanks

Find the part numbers of the panels you require in the parts manual and fire of an email to Lyngs or David Silvers listing your requirements and they will give you price and availability of the parts, some stuff is still available. I think you will find most Honda parts have to come from Japan Very Happy

If the panels you want arent available start searching yahoo auctions Japan and get in contact with Moriwaki man. I can recomend his service.

Hi when you say seed panel, would that be the v panel behind the front wheel? If so I'm interested in it!

Hello Simon, and welcome.

The "SEED Racing" panel I have is the left rear. SEED Racing colours are the 1989 black/silver/red R5K model.
