Technical Gates silencers.

Sun Apr 01, 2012 6:26 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Would any of our Japanese NSR World friends know anything about Technical Gates silencers?

http://www.tec-gates.com/original/chamber/index.htm

I'm looking for a set of carbon kevlar silencers for my NX5 RS250. My RS has Samba exhausts fitted to it and what I really want is a pair of 'A' kit or RSW style carbon kevlar silencers. These are proving hard to find and the closest I have seen to matching the 'A' kit part are these Technical Gates silencers. I know that I can get carbon kevlar silencers from Samba but the carbon kevlar weave is all wrong... It's all about the look! Yes, I am that sad! Embarassed Laughing
Ian Emberton (IanE Racing) is supposed to be bringing in some 'Honda' weave carbon kevlar silencer sleeves but I have yet to see any pics of them or find out if indeed they do exist.
Any help would be appreciated.

I like it, I might start using it in conversation.

Not quite sure it's exactly right, but the jha cans always had a good carbon/kevlar weave. It's the type my NSR500V cans use

The other type is this stuff

The M'Project silencers are excellent! I had a pair on my RS250. Super tough, and very high quality attractive looking silencers. I need a replacement but DAMN are they expensive! I swapped back to my Titanium Jha's for now Sad

Thanks for the replies. I did have a look at the M Project silencers and this may be the way to go.
Cheers!

You have Johnson carbon silencers fitted to you NSR Si? I used to have a set of Johnson carbon kevlar silencers fitted to my old MC21. They were nice! I take it Johnson are not in business anymore as I cannot find any info on them?

Si's probably got a lot of stuff on his bike no longer available... like stone wheels and solid rubber Dunlops!

By the time it's finished there won't be any fossil fuels left either!

I believe both Ian Emberton and Dennis Trollope will be able to help you out.
Also check fondseca.com if you are willing to compromise with pattern ones.
