RS250 NF5 Marchesini Rear Disc

Tue May 15, 2012 5:14 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi guys,

I am in the process of rebuilding my 1990 NF5 and I am experiencing a problem... The bike is equipped with a rear Marchesini wheel...
It was a very common update for the bike that era... Every NF5 had at least a rear Marchesini wheel...
The problem that I have is that the rear disc is different from the OEM disc... Not at the dimensions but of the number of the bolts...
The OEM disc is bolted with 4 bolts but the disc of Marchesini wheel is bolted with 3... Any ideas where could find this disc...?
I have already check "NG Brakes", "Braking", "Galfer" but with no luck...
The diameter of the disc is 187mm and 4mm width...

Regards
Michael

Hi Michael, the marchesini in the rear of my 92 nf5 is a 4 bolt fixing, if yours is 3 bolt, i think you will find that an RS125 disc will fit, it is same dimensions as 250.

Hu guys,

Yakama thanks for the link... ISR-Brakes seem to do a fine job... I will defiantly drop them a fax (their email doesn't work as they say) to give me information’s and price... Thanks...!!

Lesviffer thanks for that info... I knew that the RS125 disc had the same outside dimension as the RS250 disc but i didn't remember/know that it had 3 fixing bolts... Thanks for that info Lesviffer...!!! I will have to find a guy now with an RS125 and ask to measure the disc to see if the fixing holes are in the same position as mine...

Thanks for all the help guys...!!!

Michael

The Rs125 rear disk has a diameter of about 187mm and a 3 bolt pattern with centers at about 95mm.

Hi Nick,

This is the correct disc... These are the dimensions of my disc also...

I did a little research and i came up with this info:

1989 RS250 use 3 bolt pattern 43122-NF5-760
1990 RS250 use 3 bolt pattern 43122-NF4-770 (mine model)
1991 RS250 use 4 bolt pattern 43122-NF4-870

1990 RS125 use 3 bolt pattern 43122-NF4-770 (as the 1990 RS250)
1991 RS125 use 3 bolt pattern 43122-NF4-770 (as the 1990 RS250)

The disc from what i check with Honda is on stock although i found a Greek manufacture that build discs and i said to give it a try... I have already sent him the disc and told me that it will cost around 45.00 Euros...

His internet site is this http://www.x-gear.gr/index.php?welcome=1&lang=gr&lang=en For anyone who wants to give a look...

Thanks guys for all the help again...
Michael

The disc is common with a Honda quad bike or something. I bought a new pattern one from the US for about £40 delivered last year. Same disc, same fitment. I'll check next time I'm sat I front of a PC.

It's a Honda CN250 scooter.

I think it's called the Lead in America. The Helix/Fusion in Europe/Japan.

Webike Japan do a few different versions. Inc' wavy Galfer and Braking ones.
I bought five of the plain standard shape aftermarket ones from them last year, made by Rise.

They're slightly larger in diameter, if I remember correctly, 189mm.
I'm going to get them turned down by my machinist.
